Local Movie
🎬 Local History Spotlight: Join us on Wednesday, July 15 at 1 PM (right after the Eat to Live lunch) for a special viewing of The Lake Man (L’homme du lac, 1963).
Produced by the National Film Board of Canada, this is one of the earliest documentaries filmed in the Lac La Biche region. It follows Alexis Ladouceur, offering a rare, beautiful glimpse into mid-century Métis life, family gatherings, and local traditions on the lake. 🛶🌲
While some scenes reflect outdated perspectives of the 1960s, it remains a valuable piece of our community’s history.
Lunch is from 11:30-12:30pm. $15 per person (includes drink & dessert)
No fee to come by and watch the movie. Coffee, tea or juice by donation.
